Axminster Carpets is set to launch new advertising campaign in the Autumn 2010.
“Some consumers still view Axminster Carpets as a high quality manufacturer of mainly bold patterned carpets. Our key aim is to stress to the consumer that we do produce the best in quality, but equally that it is available in many different carpet styles. Whether traditional pattern, contemporary pattern, textured or plain, we offer a comprehensive collection that appeals to all ages and we want both young and old consumers to fully appreciate this.”

In January 2010, HRH The Prince of Wales announced his intention to recreate enthusiasm for wool with a National Wool Week in September that is being backed by both John Lewis and Marks and Spencer.
As a carpet manufacturer that consumes over 500,000 Kilos of wool per year, Axminster Carpets welcomes this initiative:
“We are pleased that His Royal Highness is turning his attention to the promotion of wool and that the efforts are being backed by two of the best known names in British retailing,” says Steve Upperton, Sales Director. “We hope that this will re-focus consumers on the benefits of wool and with further support from Condé Nast, publishers of titles such as ‘House and Garden’ and ‘World of Interiors’, we are sure that the profile of wool carpets will again be raised through regular coverage in the consumer media, benefitting our network of retailers.”

As further testament to Axminster Carpets’ commitment to the environment that has seen the introduction of the first carbon neutral domestic carpet range, the company has revealed that it’s Axfelt underlay will now be supplied protected in biodegradable plastic.
The new packaging further improves Axfelt’s stance as an underlay ideal for environmentally conscious homeowners, which has been a contributing factor in demand rising since it was first introduced. The popularity of the underlay, originally developed to offset waste at Axminster Carpets’ Devon manufacturing facility, has increased to such an extent that Axminster Carpets is now sourcing wool and carpet waste from other carpet manufacturers and wool users across the UK.
